Walk on the blue trail and visit the Church of San Giovanni in Montorfano, the church is mentioned for the first time in a document of 885. 



Visit the House of resistance near the Monument to the 42 Martyrs  

Visit Al Parco Naturale Fondotoce. Also available via the bike path 




The real Santa's Grotto, Sanctuary of Boden, visit and tour of the fortifications Cadorna the First World War

Valli dell'Ossola

The Valley Antrona

is one of the seven valleys that branch off from the Val d'Ossola (VB), and is crossed by the river Ovesca. The V.A. starts Villadossola.



is the valley through which it reaches the east face of Monte Rosa, the largest of the Alps both in width and in height (4635 m.) Start Piedimulera


La Valle Bognanco,

is located at the back of Domodossola, branching from the larger Val d'Ossola. At Bognanco are open Terme


Val Divedro.

is the Valley that starting from Crevoladossola leads to the Simplon Pass. Near Varzotourist resort, the valley opens up and spreads the Val Cairasca, from which you can reach the hamlet of San Domenico, known for its complex of ski resort, and the Park Alpe Veglia and Alpe Devero.


The Valley vigezzo

is known as the Valley of the Painters for the historical presence of landscape painters and portrait.

Salt and Domodossola along Centovalli you get to Locarno in Switzerland and back to Lake Maggiore.


Valle Antigorio

The Valley Antigorio is entirely crossed by the river Toce, and extends from Domodossola to the hamlet of Chioso Premia, including the towns of Crodo, Baceno and Premia.


Valle Formazza

The Valley of the Toce Waterfall. The valley is home to many artificial lakes created during the first decades of the twentieth century for the production of hydroelectric power; all dams are now owned by Enel. At Premia are open Thermal Baths

Market Square

Town Centre, is a little jewel of Renaissance architecture, with arcades that support manor houses of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, scenically perfect in its asymmetry


Palazzo Silva

A rare example of a noble house late Renaissance, one of the most significant buildings of Piedmont.

Reopens after restoration in July 2014.


Church of San Quirico

At the foot of the hills of the Chalice, architectural and ornamental features characters that are dated to the tenth or eleventh century, probably built on the ruins of a temple proto Christian. Remarkable are the frescoes of the twelfth and fifteenth centuries.


Collegiate Church of SS. Gervase and Protaso

Built between 1792 and 1798 to a design by architect. Matteo Zucchi, has three naves and six chapels and a valuable altar in polychrome marble.


Town Hall

Designed by the architect. Leoni, is a fine example of the work of the second neoclassicism.


Palazzo San Francesco

Behind the Town Hall, was built on the plan of the Church of San Francesco, which dated from the late thirteenth century. See if re-opened after restoration.


Palazzo Mellerio

Next to the Town Hall, was built by Count Giacomo Mellerio who founded the first high school gymnasium Ossola (1818).



Building located in Via Monte Grappa erected on one end of the fourteenth century pentagonal walls that encircled the old town


Via Briona

Characteristic way that leads in the Market Square and on which stands the Torre del '300, known as "of the Bishop"


Natural Reserve of Sacro Monte Calvario

Regional park and protected area since 1991; Access is free, subject to rules of behavior and good manners. The Reserve offers guided tours to pay for schools and associations, educational activities. The Sacro Monte Calvario is also artistic and cultural heritage.
